Exercise has been a battle for me. I know every excuse in the book. I don't have time. I am too tired. It is boring. It is too hard. I'm too out of shape. It is too hot. It is too cold. You get the idea.
I started out walking for a few minutes a couple of times a week. I gradually added days until I walked for about a half hour most days. Then I decided to try some new things. I have continued to change and try new things until I have found a routine that works for me. Our local YMCA has been instrumental in keeping me from getting bored and giving me new things to try.
I currently use their step aerobics classes, swim laps or use the eliptical trainer and weights. We each have to find what we enjoy and have enough variety not to get tired of it. I also change my routine regularly to keep it burning the calories as my body gets used to the exercise after a couple of months.
